Front Page Plans

This first plan is very tidy but dull. I like the font used for the 'Miss A' as it's bold and has an attitude to it. However the masthead looks out of place and bland. This may put the readers off as it doesn't fit in with the magazine, they may dislike it as it's boring and uninteresting.
I like the use of the Korean flag on the main masthead as well as the side bar.

On this second plan I have positioned the yellow side bar on the left closer to the masthead which makes it more appealing as well as the bar code as it follows the eye rule of the 'Z.' I have also put an outline on the 'Miss A' this makes gives an effect that it's more sharp and clean. I haven't changed anything else from the first image.

Here I chose to experiment with the colour scheme. I chose to have a side bar with red, blue and yellow on the left side. This will show creativity and it will show that I have followed the colour scheme I have chosen. The 'O' in B.O.A I turned it land scape to see if it looked nice and I have also added two dots in it. By doing this I have created a 'ying and yang' (Chinese symbol) effect which I think looks really good. However I think that the masthead looks boring as it's too plane and dull. I have also changed the 'Miss A' font to Brush Script MT. I think that this font looks very effective and elegant however this is not the effect I'm after.

This is a better layout in my personal opinion as the front cover looks more professional and put together. The colours used works well. I especially like the font I used for the masthead. I feel that it will grab readers more than the previous fonts I used. I have also enlarged and changed the font of the names of the artists which is now very visible. Without reading the cover lines you can already know who's featured in the magazine. I especially like use of the new font for the 'Miss A' it gives an effect of face pace life or the zooming of the car which may connote the fast rise in career of Miss A.

I first drew a front page plan by hand which I then edited and made some changes using the computer.

Contents Mix Image

Contents page
Model - Eleanor Gray
Age - 16
I chose Eleanor to be my model for the contents page as I wanted to show in the magazine that this Kpop magazine isn't biased towards races. I wanted to show that Kpop is loved and appreciated by other races apart from Asians. Eleanor was perfect for this as she too loves Kpop so she had ideas how to pose and what to do.

These are edited pictures for my contents page they will be used as mixes. Eleanor will be included in my contents page as a contest winner who got a Kpop make over. These are my most liked photos from the photo shoot which I have edited and I will be picking one for the final magazine. But I will analyse each one in more detail thinking about my audience, genre and what I want my magazine to be portrayed.

In this photo you can see her face behind her hands which denotes shyness. Her face is very relaxed and fresh. It also shows denotes girliness. But her outfit contrasts that as they're quite masculine. This photo is also taken at eye level which may show that she's an average who shouldn't be looked up to.

This pose is very girly and feminine which will work well for my target audience. The boys will find this cute and the girls will find this as an inspirational pose. The lighting is very good as you can see her face and outfit clearly. We can see more of her pink hair here but her hand is still covering it slightly.

This outfit is a lot more dull due to the jacket, however the bold pink highlights balances this out as it's clearly shown here. The cap's lettering also stands out more due to the darkness of the clothes. However against the white wall it's still washed out. Her pose here is very simple but effective. Her smile is very big which will radiate off to the readers.

A very unique pose with a bold facial expression. Her eyes are looking fiercely at the camera which my intimidate the readers. Her facial expressions looks too stiff and serious.

This next pose is very interesting which shows off her new "make over" as a Kpop idol. The lighting is perfect as we can distinctively see her face, make-up, hair and accessories. Her facial expression is very serious which might show the reader that she was serious about winning the contest. This is very appealing to the readers.

This is a very fun and happy image to look at which denotes that she was delighted to have won the contest. Her pose looks very comfortable and carefree. The 'Peace' sign makes her look very Korean and cute. I think I will choose this picture for the magazine.

Masthead Style

These are my chosen fonts and style for my masthead. I made a few to choose from.
